My Work Week

I thought that this week would never end.  It actually started last week.  We don't get a normal schedule where I work, no weekends, so a work week isn't Sunday-Saturday.  My team and I were supposed to get a 3 day weekend, which turned into only one day when the construction unit that we are training to deploy showed up unprepared.  Another unit was supposed to show up to help, but they were delayed.  So what happened? Chaos!  We jumped through hoops at the end of last week to help them prepare, worked with them throughout the weekend, and then we were ready to work at 3a.m.  Now, I work 30 min away, so add up waking up, getting ready (Army style, pull hair back and out uniform on) making coffee, and driving the 30 minutes.  Some people that I work with live over 45 min away.  The days were long.  We had three work sites, two were an hour apart.  They poured two helicopter landing pads and they replaces culverts.  One site got a little backed up and 5 cement trucks were there are one time.  I still don't think that everything is straightened out, but at least I am at home for the day!
